Sensmetry is seeking a talented individual for the role of Chief Accountant. This is a position focused on accounting, tax and finance and also covers how these areas relate to public funding projects, tenders, and R&D activities in Lithuania and Sweden.
The selected candidate in this position will ensure that Sensmetry’s financial operations and accounting are accurate and compliant helping the company navigate the path to growth. Besides the standard responsibilities of a corporate accountant, a Chief Accountant will prepare, monitor, and report budgets in public funding projects and tenders and take responsibility for R&D documentation related to tax exemptions and statistical reporting. The Chief Accountant will closely work with the CEO of the company, the Administration Manager, and the administrators of the public funding projects and tenders.

Role requirements

Education and experience
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role
• University degree in Finance, Accounting, related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in at least one established accounting software solution
• Familiarity with or interest in learning and using modern accounting software solutions
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Strong numerical and MS Excel skills
• English language skills to be able to work in an English speaking & writing environment
Responsibilities
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting and tax returns
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Oversee the accounting process of the branch office in Sweden
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• R&D tax exempts documentation and reporting
• Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives
• Stay updated on accounting standards and tax regulations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in financial management processes
• Prepare timesheets, payroll statements, and paychecks for employees
• Provide employment-related notices to government institutions
• Administer secondments
• Administer share options and share documentation
• Prepare project budget reports and supporting documents
• Ensure appropriate financial documentation for project audits
• Provide efficient ongoing support on project financial matters

• Salary range 18-25 Eur/h gross
